What this site is
countrycalling.codes lists the international calling code for every country and territory, with ISO country codes, regions, trunk prefixes and, where they have been reviewed, step-by-step dialing guides with safe example formats. It also offers a phone-number format checker and a free, read-only JSON API and MCP endpoint for developers.
The site is written for travellers, people calling family or businesses abroad, and developers who need to store, validate or display international phone numbers correctly.
How the data is sourced
Calling codes and dialing rules are taken from primary sources wherever possible:
- ITU-T Recommendation E.164 and the ITU list of assigned country calling codes.
- National numbering plans published by regulators and numbering administrations, including plans submitted to the ITU.
- Open-source phone-number metadata (libphonenumber) for the format checker and developer API, used under its published licence.
Reviewed country guides carry a source and a last-verified date. Where no officially reserved example number is confirmed, pages use placeholder patterns instead of real subscriber numbers. The full source hierarchy, review cadence and correction process are described on the methodology page.

countrycalling.codes is not affiliated with the ITU, any regulator or any telephone carrier. Some pages contain clearly labelled affiliate links, and the site may show advertising.
