- Is it +33, 0033 or 33?
- Same code. Save +33. 0033 is the 00 exit code followed by 33, so it only works where 00 is the exit code, such as the UK or Germany; from the US the digits are 011 33.
- Which French numbers are mobiles?
- Mobile numbers begin 06 or 07 at home, so they start +33 6 or +33 7. Fixed lines begin 01 to 05 or 09.
- How should I store a French number in a form or CRM?
- Store +33 and the nine digits with no spaces, for example +336XXXXXXXX, and add spacing only for display. Machine-to-machine numbers beginning 0700 are longer, so don’t hard-code a nine-digit limit if you might receive them.
- What exit code do I use to call abroad from France?
- 00, then the country code and number, for example 00 1 XXX XXX XXXX for a US number. On a mobile, use + instead, and save the + form in contacts.

Common France Formatting Mistakes
- Keeping the domestic 0 after +33.
- Assuming every French territory uses +33.
