How to Dial Singapore

Saving the number in contacts

Start with +65, then use the reviewed national significant number. There is no domestic trunk prefix to remove from ordinary eight-digit numbers.

Calling from abroad

On a mobile, use the + form. If a network requires digits instead, replace + with that origin network's international prefix. Singapore's own standard exit prefix for outbound calls is 001; documented alternatives include 002, 008, 013, 018, 019.

No area codes. All subscriber numbers are 8 digits.

Exceptions and Routing Notes

Common Singapore Formatting Mistakes

  • Adding a leading 0 before the eight-digit number.
  • Saving a carrier-specific international access code as part of the contact.
  • Assuming the first digit identifies the current mobile carrier.

Number Portability and Carrier Data

Mobile number portability means a prefix may not identify the current carrier. Treat carrier data as a timestamped lookup result, not a permanent property of the number.
