Dialing sequence, step by step

Start with + on a mobile, or 00 when the Brazil network requires digits. You can add an optional two-digit carrier-selection code straight after 00.

Add the destination national significant number. There is no separate domestic trunk digit to remove. The digit 1 may be used before the ten-digit number for long-distance dialling, but it is also the shared country code in international notation.
From Brazil, the international prefix is 00. A two-digit carrier-selection code can be added after 00 to choose the carrier for this call (00 XX 1 …), but Anatel’s numbering rules also allow the call without it.
